In ASHI's Basic First Aid class, you'll learn how to recognize and respond to emergencies and provide First Aid for many types of injuries. The course covers numerous topics and scenarios, including:

Basic Life Support (BLS) is a CPR/AED course for professional rescuers offered by American Safety & Health Institute. Participants will gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in high-quality CPR skills and teamwork for the adult, child, and infant. Class includes instruction on two rescuer CPR, use of resuscitation masks, bag-valve mask resuscitators, and AED.


ASHI’s Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) course is designed to engage and inform the aspiring babysitter. CABS helps teens develop the skills and confidence to build a safe, fun, and profitable babysitting business.

Topics include:

  • Safety and injury prevention
  • Leadership, focusing on strategies to build confidence when responding to conflict
  • Tips on age-appropriate play, proper supervision, and how to stay involved
  • Basic caregiving skills like feeding, burping, diapering, and safe sleep practices
  • First Aid, including how to respond properly to ill or injured children

The class is geared towards adolescents and is not intended for daycare workers.

ASHI certifications for Child And Babysitting Safety, Basic First Aid, and Basic Life Support are valid for two years from the date you complete the course. You'll receive a digital copy of the training manual after successfully completing the class.
